National Plug-In Day - Detroit

“Get Plugged-In” to the benefits of Electric Vehicles at National Plug-In Day -  Detroit

The Sierra Club, Plug-In America, the Electric Auto Association, and other local partners are organizing National Plug-In Day as a way to bring the attention of the media, policymakers, and the public to electric vehicles and the significant oil and emissions savings that a switch to EVs will present.   National Plug-In Day will be held Sunday, October 16, 2011 at 20 cities across the country, with thousands of attendees expected.

In Detroit, Schoolcraft College will host the event from 1PM to 4PM in the north end of their Livonia campus, right next to two of the college’s four, free EV charging stations.    People who attend the event will get the opportunity to:
  •   Examine over 20 EVs of all kinds, inside and out
  •   Talk to people who drive EVs every day
  •   Take test rides in Chevy Volts, a Smart ED, Ford Rangers, electric scooters, plus unique EV conversions
  •   Talk to EV equipment and service providers about charging stations, plug-in kits and other offerings
  •   Listen to a running presentation on “The Case for Plug-In Electric Vehicles
